In an effort to reach out to a global community, as well as our local community, Mechanical Power is now involved with Rotary International through the Crystal Lake Dawnbreakers chapter. By having one of our employees become an active member of the group, it allows us to have a positive effect on not only our local community, but also the global community that we work with every day.
Rotary International is an organization that is held in high esteem across the globe and it affords us the opportunity to make an impact on many different levels. Rotary International is driven by different avenues of service including international, community, club and vocational. All Rotarians live by guiding principles such as The Four-Way Test. This test is an ethical guide for Rotarians to use for their personal and professional relationships. The test has been translated into more than 100 languages, and Rotarians recite it at club meetings:
Of the things that we think, say, or do
- Is it the truth?
- Is it fair to all concerned?
- Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
- Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
Through weekly meetings and opportunities to donate time and money to worthwhile causes both here and abroad, we can achieve our goal of making the world we live and work in a better place. These meetings provide a forum for the exchange of ideas that provide a plan for spending funds raised throughout the year. These funds are divided between local and international avenues of service.
I have had the privilege of working with the global sourcing professionals at Mechanical Power for over 7 years. My responsibility is to set direction/vision and assemble the best possible team to execute the plan and thrill our customers. I am most proud of the current team that will provide great customer service for years to come.
