Bearings, sprockets, chains and other products that transmit power (power transmission products) are not exciting on the surface. When you choose a career in sourcing, manufacturing or distributing bearings, sprockets and chains, you give up the chance to really shine at “Bring your Parents to School” day at your kid’s school. Even adults tend to put on the “what the heck is he talking about” smiley face. I use phrases like:

I get very excited about each of these subjects, but none of them are sexy. The truth is that the exciting thing behind each of these phrases is a key element- people! Mechanical Power is all about taking the hassle out of Global Sourcing industrial components for our OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) customers. The only way to do this is to recruit and retain the best possible people who will deliver on this promise.
People make the difference. You could have the best products or service in the world, but without a passionate and dedicated workforce there is little chance for long-term success.

How do I find winners in a highly competitive environment for talent? Constantly recruiting and networking. I have been working with the same recruiter for many years- she knows Mechanical Power and the Culture we are building here. She can tell the story almost as well as I can. We do not sugar-coat who we are or what we offer. We have a very open and candid structure and I only want employees who have made the decision that Mechanical Power is the right place for them to be. I don’t need to convince them- they need to convince themselves. That makes the best long-term fit for our organization and the most valuable employee. It’s all about value:
